About On the Way Moreton Bay Inc.

Real People. Real Stories. Real Support.

On the Way Moreton Bay Inc. is a grassroots, not for profit community organisation based in Deception Bay, Queensland. We are led by people with lived experience of homelessness, addiction, mental health challenges, and hardship and we use that experience to walk alongside others on the road to recovery, stability, and hope.

We Support individuals and families who are doing it tough those without a safe place to sleep, struggling to put food on the table, or battling the invisible weight of trauma and poverty. We believe in connection meeting people where they are, without judgement.

How we Started

On the Way Moreton Bay Inc. began with one woman, a car full of meals, and a heart full of compassion. Our founder, Roslyn Nuttall, started reaching out to people in the community who were struggling — offering food, support, and a listening ear to those doing it tough.

Having lived through addiction and mental health challenges herself, Roslyn understands just how powerful a simple act of kindness can be. She began cooking meals at home and driving around the Moreton Bay region, delivering food and building connections with people living on the streets and in housing commission areas. What started as one person trying to make a difference quickly grew into a grassroots movement.

Today, On the Way Moreton Bay Inc. is a registered incorporated association built on empathy, lived experience, and the belief that everyone deserves dignity, support, and hope. Roslyn is now leading the launch of a weekly Soup Kitchen in Deception Bay in the John Naumann Hall 474 Deception Bay Road, Deception Bay 4508.

We are currently awaiting ACNC charity registration and Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status to further expand our impact and make all donations tax-deductible.

We are here for those who feel forgotten.

Our Impact

Small Team. Big Heart. Real Change.

At on the Way Moreton Bay Inc. we may be a small grassroots organisation but our impact reaches far and wide.

Every meal delivered, every conversation shared, every care pack handed out represents a life touched by compassion, dignity, and hope. Our community led approach means we're not just meeting people's basic needs we're helping them feel seen, heard, and supported.

We have provided:

5000+ hot meals served on outreach. Every Meal served with a side of kindness.

500+ emergency hampers distributed

From families in housing crisis to individuals couch surfing, our food hampers provide essential relief during tough times.

300+items of clothing and camping gear supplied.

Thanks to community donations, we've provided warm clothing, sleeping bags, and essential items to those sleeping rough or in temporary accommodation.

Countless connections made.

Some impacts can't be measured the power of a warm conversation, a safe space, or simply knowing someone cares.

Beyond the Numbers

We advocate for real change

We use our platform to raise awareness about the gaps in the system from the housing crisis to mental health access.

We walk alongside, not ahead

Many of our team have been where our community members are. We offer support without judgement, because we understand.

We are building something sustainable.

With every donated meal, every local partnership, and every new volunteer, we're creating a stronger safety net for our region.
