About On the Way Moreton Bay Inc.
On the Way Moreton Bay Inc. is a grassroots, volunteer-led organisation supporting individuals and families impacted by homelessness, addiction, mental health issues, and housing stress accross the Moreton Bay Region.
We deliver community outreach in local social housing areas, providing free meals, hampers, clothing, and referrals to essential services. Our team includes volunteers with lived experience who offer empathy, understanding and real-life guidance.
At On the Way Moreton Bay Inc. we believe in walking alongside people, not ahead or behind, helping them move forward with dignity, hope, and real support.
How we Started
On the Way Moreton Bay Inc. began with one woman, a car full of meals, and a heart full of compassion. Our founder, Roslyn Nuttall, started reaching out to people in the community who were struggling — offering food, support, and a listening ear to those doing it tough.

Having lived through addiction and mental health challenges herself, Roslyn understands just how powerful a simple act of kindness can be. She began cooking meals at home and driving around the Moreton Bay region, delivering food and building connections with people living on the streets and in housing commission areas. What started as one person trying to make a difference quickly grew into a grassroots movement.

Today, On the Way Moreton Bay Inc. is a registered incorporated association built on empathy, lived experience, and the belief that everyone deserves dignity, support, and hope. Roslyn is now leading the launch of a fortnightly drop-in centre in Deception Bay and working toward a long-term goal: opening a 4 to 10-bed detox and recovery centre — a vital service currently missing in the region.

We are currently awaiting ACNC charity registration and Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status to further expand our impact and make all donations tax-deductible.

We are here for those who feel forgotten. We walk alongside people in their hardest moments and remind them they’re not alone, we’re on the way.

Our Long Term Goals
At On the Way – Moreton Bay Inc., we’re committed to building long-term, sustainable solutions that address the root causes of homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges in our region. While our grassroots outreach continues to grow, we’re also working toward the bigger picture.

Secure a Permanent Drop-In Centre
Our current drop-in centre is launching on a trial basis. Our long-term goal is to secure a permanent, fully resourced space where individuals and families can access consistent support, hot meals, services, workshops, and a welcoming community hub.

Expand Our Support Network
We aim to continue building strong partnerships with local services, businesses, and government to create a coordinated response to community needs. This includes expanding our team of peer mentors, volunteers, and outreach workers.

Operate a Fully Equipped Outreach Van
We plan to upgrade to a purpose-built outreach van equipped with storage, supplies, and basic mobile support services — allowing us to reach more people, more safely and efficiently, across the region.

Offer Education & Empowerment Programs
In the future, we hope to offer workshops, life skills training, peer-led support groups, and employment pathways — helping people regain confidence, independence, and a sense of purpose.

Establish a 4–10 Bed Detox & Recovery Centre
We are actively working toward opening a safe and supportive detox and recovery centre in the Moreton Bay region — a critical gap in local services. This centre will offer short-term residential support, peer mentoring, and wraparound care to help people begin their recovery journey with dignity and stability
